Venues

We've decided on a few details. 1) The reception will be at a hotel 2) That hotel will probably not be in Chicago, but in the NW Suburbs.and 3) We'll probably get married in the first third of the year (April or sooner) because there are a few venues offering discounts for that timeframe.

I am strongly leaning towards the Marriott O'Hare, where 2 of my bridesmaids and my officiant had their senior prom. But I may just be leaning strongly because that's the only place we met with a sales person. I need the other venues to be sold to me as well.

I reached out to the Westin and am not not not impressed. They sent me a link to their information online. Great. You mean you sent me to the website that gave me this email to get additional information about your venue? You fail.

At the Marriott, I could use the former Kona Kai restaurant as my reception space and I'm really warming up to that even though I thought I wanted a more "sophisticated" feel. It's very whimsical... and if we go with that, I'm not going to go all out tiki...but decorating is going to be so easy.

We were pretty happy with our place, which was the Marriott Renaissance Northbrook: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/chinb-renaissance-chicago-north-shore-hotel/. Not exactly NW, more N. But we were very happy with it. If you want some more info on it, shoot me an e-mail.
