I'm not sure if I'll be watching the debate tonight. I'm not a huge Biden fan. I'm fine with his politics, I just think he talks to much. From what I understand, it will not so much be a debate but them answering question towards the moderator. And in that format, I think Sarah will look really good to all the people she energized in late August and the rest of us will still be astonished that she's a VP candidate.
She won't answer any questions...and by that I mean even less so than most candidates do....and she will have one line zingers that will be played on the internet by liberals and conservatives alike over and over to show how ill informed or sassy she is.
I understand that many of her politics are popular with many people...pro life, pro gun, pro drilling in Alaska. And whether or not you agree with those, there can be a respectable compelling arguments for those. But not by her. I cannot think that anyone wants a candidate that cannot handle an interview; that cannot be challenged; and that cannot even attempt to bridge a gap between Rs & Ds. I have got to think that even the most junior Republican Congressman is thinking, "Really, you chose her over me?"
So, I might watch the debate or I might watch my Netflix of season 1 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Either way, I'm fulfilling Joseph Conrad's assessment of human behavior.

Brilliantly dead-on Rae; you were exactly right. Well she certainly got me excited - to donate more to Obama! If America votes to have this female version of George W anywhere near the White House I will seriously consider jumping ship. I knew that Irish citizenship would come in handy some day!
And also, what truly worries me, is that somehow now in addition to making "liberal" a dirty word, the Republican Party is trying to make "intelligent" and "educated" dirty words too. And people are buying it!
it irritates me that she's judged by a different standard. Aside from the fact that I feel like it sets women back an entire generation, it's also patently ridiculous.
I guess it wouldn't bother me so much if Dubya's approval ratings weren't in the toilet. But, I mean, he is EXACTLY the president he said he'd be. He won the popular vote in 2004. Therefore, the majority of the people in this country got exactly the president they voted for. And now they're unhappy? And now they like this VP candidate for a lot of the same reasons they liked Dubya? ("She's just like me!")
I was already pretty sure I didn't like people, but this pretty much confirms it for me.
