The ultrasound the following Wednesday confirmed that Gus is "way down there." The tech kind of scared us a little with phrases like, "wow, do we have your due date right?" "March 8th" and "7 lbs" The doctor made us feel better. She pointed out that the measurements are inaccurate by up to a lb . She would not change my due date. And that as long as everything progressed normally she was not going to induce early. Her biggest concern was the baby staying small enough to have a healthy vaginal birth.
Which brings us to the next week's appt: no weight gain for mama, bp 106/72, measuring at 36 weeks. And a no-go on the internal exam because the baby's head is too low...which probably means there is no dilation at all since I'm still posterior. But the doc also has told me that she would be surprised if I lasted 2 more weeks, but that I still night wait till my due date. So, she wants me to be ready just in case.
Are we ready? Yes and no. The car seat has been installed. The nursery is done with the exception of some small patch work that Robbin has started and now needs to complete. But the guest room, a disaster. So, I keep telling myself each morning, "today, I'll work on the guest room." And then I always find a different project, like updating my blog. :-)
Another appt this afternoon, hopefully an informative one.
